EESTX 33410 CCTV Systems Practice Test 2026 – Comprehensive Exam Prep

The correct choice is RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol) because it is specifically designed for streaming media, which includes video. RTSP allows for the control of media streaming playback functions like play, pause, and stop, making it ideal for live video surveillance applications in CCTV systems over IP networks. It can manage the delivery of the video stream to clients in real time, providing a responsive viewing experience that is essential for monitoring purposes.

While protocols such as HTTP and FTP are used for data transfer, they are not optimized for live video. HTTP is primarily designed for transferring web pages and their resources, and although it can serve video files, it does not provide the necessary control for real-time streaming. FTP, on the other hand, is focused on file transfers and does not support real-time capabilities, which makes it unsuitable for live video surveillance applications.

TCP/IP is a foundational suite of protocols used for networking, which encompasses many other protocols including RTSP. However, TCP/IP alone does not provide the specific functionalities needed for streaming video, making RTSP the more appropriate choice for video transmission in the context of CCTV systems over IP networks.
